I've had the pleasure of working with Bea and her team over at the Fredericksburg Area Builders Association for a few years now on multiple smaller projects and most recently was given the opportunity to overhaul their main website www.fabava.com.
In an attempt to not only offer a more modern design, I also wanted the new website to focus deeply on search engine optimization, ease of use and ease of maintenance. I opted to run the site using Joomla 1.5 with an assortment of goodies from JEvents to installing and configuring a JCE Editor (v1.9).
By leveraging existing toolsets from the Joomla development community, I was able to create a website that loads extremely quick, looks great and offers years of expansion to their office's online outreach. Joomla will not paint them into a corner and as their needs grow, the website can quickly follow.
The design focuses heavily on putting the most important content on top, and not just at the visual level, but on the code layer as well. This not only makes for a good appearance, it pleases the likes of Bing! and Google search engine bots, making it easier to index content and navigate through the entire sitemap.
From conception to roll out, this project came in just under 4 months. I am currently providing both training and hosting support for this website.
